Taunt Query Empty
PostSubject: Taunt Query   Taunt Query EmptyTue Sep 23, 2008 5:03 am

Seems my old post got nuked with the great forum wipe last night so I repost again:

Double had meantioned in another post (before his post also got wiped) that it would be best to stick with a 5 second taunt.

I, myself, am growing quite disillusioned with my 15 second taunt. I chose it because I figured the middle taunt would be the safest to chose when I started my wrestler.

What I don't like:

My taunt seems to be interupted about 50% of the time. Against speed wrestlers this interuption rate seems to be much higher so my theory is getting your taunt off has something to do with initiative vs initiative.

What I'd like to do:

I'd love to switch to a 10 or 5 second taunt. Problem is I'd really be shooting myself in the foot if I lose all my built up taunt levels.

Or maybe I could make a quicker taunt and use it along with my 15 second taunt so the new taunt can level up to a point where I can then only use it exclusively?

Does anyone have any thoughts or wisdom to share on the matter?

15 sec taunts and above are more for the higher leveled wresters and/or for those of whom have higher leveled moves that deal greater damage to the opponent so that the taunts can be pulled off.

I don't really know of any of the behind-the-scenes formulas on the matter, but I can offer my opinion. If you don't like the 50/50 chance of your taunt, you'll have to either deal with it until you get stronger, or take the shot in the foot (so to speak) and trade it for the 5sec and/or 10 sec ones. Personally, I'd drop the 15 sec taunt and grab both of the lower taunts.

Losing your 15 sec taunt will cripple you in your roughly 50% of the matches you would get it off.

Keeping it and leveling a second one will only let you use it 50% of the time, the rest still goes to the long taunt, meaning you will actually profit only from every fourth taunt, while it takes two times longer to get the shorter taunt to a decent level.

Losing your 15 sec taunt and just restart a short taunt will hurt you for a while, until it has reached a proper level. But the chance of interruption is smaller, meaning you can successfully execute your taunt and everytime you do taunt, it contributes to the move you intend to keep.

And a longer taunt will expose you to counterattacks even more the higher you get. The chance to render someone unable to react for a longer time will decrease, the stronger (read: more xp) your opponent is.
